200 Years of science, education and development in the healthcare sector!

The Swedish Society of Medicine - SSM was founded 1808 by seven founders. The doctor and scientist Jacob Berzelius was one of them.

The Bicentenary Programme will offered many exciting events and activities – from scientific conferences to lectures and exhibitions. All events can be found in the special Bicentenary Programme which was issued in November 2007.

The aim of the celebration was to promote wider awareness of the SSM and its activities, within the field of research, quality, ethics, priorities and education. The second goal was to increase interest for the Society of Medicine among young doctors.

A series of books have been launched during 2007 and 2008 and a special fund was established in order to support medical research. The Annual General Meeting for doctors will be the final of the celebration.
